I vehemently disagree
Okay "vehemently" may be a bit strong, and my opinion is not worth much because I am neither a student nor a teacher.

Anyway, students rarely put forth very much effort. They want everything giftwrapped for them. Nobody wants to do the work. Students want to show up for class, be spoon fed, and then they want the test to directly correlate to their spoon feeding. (Some of this is a function of the fact that the things we learn in many of these classes will never be used again and really we just need to jump through the hoop once and be done with it, so why really learn a subject and become proficient in it.) Just my opinion.
