I do have some things in my favor, in that I live just off 33rd so the bus stop is <1 block from my front door and typical trips are 3-4 days so I can carry on. I walk out the door, catch the 33 to Trax, red or blue line whichever is next. I usually transfer to the green at Ballpark because it's less busy, then to the airport. Perfect and convenient.
