I am expecting a step back for the D
we lose some great players. while most of them i think are replaceable i don't see a replacement for sorenson. by replacement i mean someone who can step in an play at a similar level of effectiveness. losing him will be masked a little though because we gain trammel and johnson at corner. dback situation is better given depth and the safeties won't have as much pressure to be amazing because of the return of johnson and trammel, but as far as starters go i think it is a wash.

it seems like fua is ready to step in and be effective right away. i suspect bronson will need some time to 'get' his new position. our inside lineackers are good but thin. i don't think the linebackers will be as good as they were last year.

Defensive line will probably be better. rowley can step right in. johnson was looking good. tuiloma can step in. wash or better.

But the most important factor in my mind is that Bronco seems to have completely handed the reigns over to Tidwell so that he can spend time with the offense. I hope Tidwell is ready and has the D playing just as good as if Bronco were still running the show. Bronco's focus on a certain group usually yields results for that group he focuses on. in the past however our assistant coaches have not been able to keep the groups he is not focused on running at the level they should be. we will see. The D has lots of potential. Hopefully they mesh together and continue to reload just as they have since Bronco took over.
