The problem with Utah football now and in the short term future is recruiting
They had a P12 bump and they are currently playing with the players they got from that bump. They aren't finding a lot of success from that early recruiting boon and recruiting has been downhill ever since.

They simply aren't bringing P12 talent into the program right now and for the future. They don't have a bluechip QB in the pipe that is going to save them from this. Even if Whit saves his job there won't be a lot of personnel help in the future to keep winning games in the P12 and beyond. I can see Utah ending up like Colorado where they keep turning over coaches that simply aren't able to make an impact where it counts, recruiting.
