how good USU has been and how good they will be going forward. I admit that I haven't followed them super closely, but I feel like I've kept decent tabs on them over the past few years. They've definitely been solid, but I can't think of any "big" wins they've really had yet. Have they beaten a P5 team (other than Utah, which is a different kind of situation) or a team that finished the season ranked?
I know they've had a lot of close losses against good competition, but I just can't think of any signature wins off the top of my head.
Sadly, BYU hasn't really had a ton of such wins the last few years, but we BYU fans can at least point to drubbings of Texas, GA Tech, Oregon State, Washington State, etc. since going independent. Those may not have been the strongest opponents, but they're P5 and BYU clearly outclassed them.
I guess my real question is what evidence exists that USU has been the better team/program on the field in recent years because this intern clearly believes that to be true and I haven't looked into it enough to make a truly educated retort.
