I flew back from there in June and it was fine. The food is not great and much better if you fly KLM from Amsterdam to Joberg, but I would sacrifice the food any day for the shorter overall flight. When I went to Joberg it was 28 total hours from SLC to there, but on the way back only 22 hours since I flew direct to Atlanta.
