I recently switched jobs and my previous health insurance expired April 30th.
May 1st I received a cut across my eyebrow small enough to avoid stitches but large enough that the clinic physician recommend it be superglued.
My previous insurance had a negotiated contract price for the procedure of $138 had the procedure taken place the day before.
Since it happened the day after I am now billed for $270.
Really ticks me off that the clinic would have been just as willing to do the 5 minute procedure the day prior for $138 but since the insurance dropped they won't accept anything less than the $270... What the Yewt?!??
Anyone ever have any success having them amend the full bill back to the insurance contracted price vs the full amount?
