I'll finally feel comfortable with them when they don't seem so comfortable...
...and they convey a sense of urgency and expediency about things that permeates through the program. There's been somewhat of a laissez faire-iness about the program where Bronco takes it easy on players during fall camp to avoid injuries etc (we still get them) and we have fewer practices in pads, they skip practice days to go play at the waterpark etc and we don't have as many 2 a days to take it easy on them. Then we start the season looking lost in our opening game and struggle to beat terrible teams (need miracle plays to beat Washington, Ole Miss and lose an embarrassing game to UVA last year).

Another part is during the season we don't always look like we're prepared as well as the opponent and it seems to hamper us in the Utah game especially. Last year we had a bye week before the Utah game and they had to play USC (iirc). We wasted the bye week by taking it off so players could focus on school and then during the week of the Utah game we didn't utilize every day that was available to prepare. Result was another loss in a game we should have won. We also did the same thing before the Bowl game and wasted about half of the allotted practice days and then went and laid an egg in that game despite outgaining them (couldn't cover kickoffs worth a darn and that led to 2 TD's for them).

Last is the general atitude during games where coaches seem content getting out to a small lead and then call off the dogs early in the game to take it easy on the other team. This contributes to the laissez Faire-iness overall.

I'll feel comfortable about our coaches when I finally see that this is no longer the prevailing attitude and that they are coaching with a renewed sense of urgency and expediency. I'll feel comfortable when I see them begin to value something important called "momentum" and they work to get it and never let it go, whether it's in the game or on the season and stop being casual with it.
