With three years behind us, who has it better? BYU or Utah?
I was listening to Gunther yesterday talk about the Ute's place in the PAC12. He was telling Ute fans that they can't expect more than 6 wins per season for at least the next five years. They listed the average wins per season over the previous five seasons for some of the lower teams in the PAC and most were in the 5-7 range. His point was that if Oregon St., Arizona St. Washington, etc. are only winning that many games, there's no way Utah is going to come in and win more.

After going through that he said winning 10 games a year isn't their goal anymore, they just need to win 1 or 2 of the big games (Oregon, Stanford...) and it will be a successful season. He then said he's okay with that because they're playing some of the top programs in the country every year. BYU, on the other hand has to win 10-12 games per year to make it a successful season. We have some bad opponents on the schedule, but we're also playing a lot of big names that we didn't see too often in the MWC.

I had a Ute friend text me yesterday and tell me he's about ready to become a BYU fan if they don't start winning. He was joking, but that would suck losing that many games every year so I'm just curious what you guys would prefer. Would you be happy accepting the fact that you're going to be 6-6 most seasons if it meant playing a PAC schedule and a chance (like 1 in a million) of making it to the playoffs? Or, is it more fun to watch your team win 8-10 games a year with only 2-4 really big name opponents? I know BYU would probably go undefeated in the PAC or B12, but for the sake of argument let's pretend they'd have similar success to Utah or TCU.
