I was 1 for 5 when getting stopped by law enforcement.
The first time I got a ride to the station in the back of a police car, along with half our scout troop.

The second time, the officer (my former school bus driver) jotted down our information. When I told him my name, he asked if my Dad knew I was out. I told him no. He said he knew my Father and he figured that was the case. He told me to get home and I did.

The third and fourth times were on the same night by the same Sheriff deputy. He was none too amused with me. If he wasn't busy looking for a guy who beat and robbed a local gas station attendant, I think I would have earned my second ride.

The last time a couple of friends and I sneaked out of our houses and met at a friend's house. We pushed his dad's car down the street so he wouldn't hear us start it. My buddy was still half asleep and turned the wheel too far and jumped a curb and backed into a tree. We hurried and started the car and took off. About a mile away, we got pulled over. Turns out we busted a tail light when the car hit the tree. We pleaded with the officer and he finally let us go home. My buddy would have been a dead man had he had to call his dad.

All night convenience stores with Donkey Kong, Defender, Galaga, microwave burritos and 32 oz fountain Mountain Dews were where it was at back in 1982 and 1983.
