RE: This is my favorite Jamaal quote of the day so far
I love that Jamaal is owning up and doing all he can to stay the course. I liked that he stated that he knew the coaching staff loved him and wanted the best for him as well. I thought that was a very revealing tweet about the value of the program that sort of sets us apart from all the other programs.

I think this is one of the things at BYU that is often underrated/overlooked: that every player, LDS or not, who comes here will learn discipline and maturity. I may not always agree with Bronco, but this is one thing I like about his program. I wonder why it isn't more of a selling point for athletes. You come here, and sure, you have to give up some things other guys might get, but with the things you learn in this program, you'll rise above others of your own talent level and will be able to increase your potential. You'll never have an award withdrawn. You'll (likely) never play for a team that gets any sort of bowl ban or other substantial NCAA punishment. If you learn to apply the discipline needed to make it at BYU, you'll never be that NFL player that gets arrested for DUIs, public indecency, assault, rape or even murder. I guess these kids aren't really looking at those things at their age, but the value of a lot of the stuff you learn here can make you a great NFL player if you have the talent and keep using it. We're known for having underrated guys who overachieve; more talented guys could go far if they came here more consistently.
