At the time I didn't see that we grabbed a LHP and a 2nd baseman. I was frustrated that our team had just been swept by the Dodgers. There was no question our pitchers played well and matched up good against the Dodgers elite pitchers but I just don't think that they could continue to do it deep into the playoffs. Time has proven and shown that you win championships by having a solid pitching core (which I don't see but stats have proven I may be wrong). I don't like our odds when Minor and Wood start, but I realize the point you guys are making that they can give up runs as long as our guys are hitting. I realize there is a need for our bats to wake up and it isn't all on the pitchers. I've come to agree with you guys there.
I was so ticked at the game when our guys would get on first with 0-1 outs only to hit into a double play. The play that ticked me off the most was when we had guys on 1st and 2nd with no out and Simmons hit a soft one right to the 3rd baseman that resulted in a double play. Why wouldn't he bunt the guys over to 2nd and 3rd and take our chances that the #8 batter would at least get one guy in on a sac fly before Teheran got up?
Anyway, I'm back on board and trust in our team even after a blowout loss last night. We just need to get hot at the right time and go from there.
