I was pretty excited for the #BYU50 to come to North Dakota, because I'm sure I'm one of the biggest fans in the state; the odds were high for me. But, for anybody who hasn't been to North Dakota, there are essentially 4 cities here (Grand Forks, Fargo, Minot, and Bismark), no less than 100 miles apart. The entire state contains half a million people. Needless to say, it's all farmland, prairie, and oil rigs. For example, it takes 4 hours to get to the Bismarck Temple from our church building. My bishop, who is an alum, was asked to do it but was unable due to a family vacation. I was looking forward to searching for the box. However, hiding it was still fun.

Picking the spot was pretty easy. The Ralph Englested arena is home to North Dakota Sioux Hockey. It's an insane place to watch hockey. The arena could not be nicer, marble floors with the Fighting Sioux etched into the stone everywhere. The hockey here is the equivalent to college football in SEC country.

I brought my family to help place the box. Luckily, my wife is smart about photography, or I would have placed the box in front of the arena in the shade making it a terrible photo.

Additionally, I was worried about how long it would take somebody to get the box. Like I said, there is not a lot of people in North Dakota. The few people here are Bison Football/Sioux Hockey fans. However, the guy who did get the box was at a youth activity checking the twitter feed constantly on his phone. He was literally 3 minutes away. He showed up in his Pig Skin Classic jersey that was signed by Ronnie Jenkins, John Tait, and Kevin Feterick. All in all, it was a lot of fun to "go bury the BYU treasure" with all the kids.
