GOAL: Sell Out MTSU Game (1st Time Ever)!

I spoke with MTSU's Director of Ticket Operations on Friday afternoon when I went to pick up a box of tickets for the BYU Alumni Association. According to him, sales for the BYU game are going REALLY WELL--MTSU expects that the November 1 BYU game should easily be one of MTSU's Top 5 attendance leaders! Apparently the ticket sales for that game are off the charts--especially given that (1) the season hasn't started and (2) the BYU game is so late in the season.

They knew that BYU would travel well, but I think Cougar Nation is already exceeding their expectations! I told him that our goal is to be MTSU's first-ever sellout, and he's obviously anxious to see that happen! He said that MTSU doesn't often get excited to have an opponent come to town but that there's a lot of excitement around campus and in the athletic department to see BYU come play. The folks at MTSU have been awesome to work with in selling tickets and planning our pre-game tailgate (they've given us use of a huge open field, offered free parking in an adjacent parking lot, and helped us line up caterers, tents, tables, chairs, etc). They're really rolling out the red--er, blue--carpet for us. They even have banners all over campus that say "True Blue!"

I walked around the stadium Friday and checked out the view of the field from various parts of the stands--especially the sections of seats that we've been selling through the Alumni Association--and there really aren't bad seats in that stadium (seats about 31,000). I hope that ticket sales continue through the roof and that the Cougar Faithful pack that stadium on November 1. Why shouldn't BYU set MTSU's all time attendance record?!?

If you need tickets, we have a chunk of about 200 additional discounted seats available through the Alumni Association, and you can purchase them at alumni.byu.edu/NashvilleCougarTown. For $40 you'll get a sideline reserve seat in a BYU section and a Cougar Town tailgate pass, which includes a Southern BBQ lunch, live Nashville bands, door prizes, and all sorts of family activities (inflatable bouncy houses, kiddie train, face painting, etc). If you already have game tickets, you can pre-purchase a tailgate-only pass for just $14 (although the price will increase as game day gets closer). Feel free to boardmail me with any questions.
