It may also hinge on their anticipated majors.
Two advantages of USU--being an alum, my children will get in-state tuition (making BYU & USU a push in this regard?) and both my wife and I have a lot of friends in Cache Valley which provides us with some comfort with the kids being 2,000 miles from home.
