I wasn't thrilled to note that the QB cupboard was bare at that point. Jake could have used some competition and BYU could have used someone that knew the system. It's too bad Munns and Lark didn't pan out... Who was running the scout team in Max's final year?

We don't know what would have happened if Heaps would have had a chance to grow into the position (and gain the respect of his teammates). It's possible that Jake would have never seen the field.

Things are working out fine right now...but I think that this mistake cost Robert Anae and Brandon Doman their jobs and put BYU back a few years. I think that the coaching staff learned from this mistake, though...that's apparent because of how they're bringing in this kid from Missouri to compete with Mangum. I think that Mangum is going to be good, but I also thought the same thing about Heaps.
