Doman never should have been OC in the first place. That was a lazy hire. Doman got Doman fired. And Anae left before that because he didn't like where things were going.
Sucks we didn't have what we thought. But if that changes where we are starting now and going forward, I'm not sure I'd take it. If you "give Heaps a chance" and he still can't hack it, then what? What's your option?
BTW, Mangum at least gets to be here for a season while Hill is a senior. It would have been better if Heaps came in 2009, but would he have? He probably wanted to start right off the bat. But even then, having a season under him to RS doesn't make him someone other than Jake Heaps.
Technically they did have someone with some experience. It was Nelson. Yes, it's their fault for not having someone better in place. But no matter how we look at it, there just weren't many options. And Heaps NEVER would have been successful with the supporting cast we've provided. Heck, Hall would have been destroyed in 2012 and 2013. Things actually panned out in the "right" direction at the right time. We got a mobile QB just in time for the OL to suck the last few years.
