Idaho was FCS not long ago.
I don;t feel too bad for schools who went for it in D1 for more money but couldn't make it. Idaho fits that. And NMSU has never really had a winning football team, pretty much ever. They are FCS anyway.
Some schools have no business being in the same category with P5 schools, even if they want to. Simple economics. They do not have the fan base or resources to compete.
