Maybe, maybe not. If Chow when away, then the series would have been fine
If I was Hawaii, I would do all in my power to play BYU, Utah, and USC. Maybe they are already trying, but I think you would have a lot of regional interest in all those areas.
If they drop football, then essentially, they are saying all the rest of the their sports are going the way of the dinosaur as well. Those sports will never sustain themselves.
