and teams are on high alert because of conference implications in those games. It's tough, especially for the Utes because they don't have the depth or talent to be competitive each week. I think they saw it as an opportunity to play a slightly softer OOC until the depth and talent improves. I also think recruiting strategies are shifting and they may want an additional opportunity to play in an area where they want some recruiting coverage. That being said, looking at Fresno and Michigan this year doesn't seem to accomplish those purposes. The real reason the rivalry is on pause may be unknown to all but a few.
