are planning on a mission. BYU and its fans are the most accommodating and understanding, and it isn't close. Consider:
1. Utah sends kids off on their mission without having signed a LOI/scholarship agreement (e.g., Josh Sharp, Harvey Langi). A couple of times that has bitten them in the butt, and I imagine it makes the players feel weird that they are only quasi-committed to the school when they leave for a mission.
2. Colorado State told Christian Stewart they had a schollie available if he didn't go on a mission.
3. UNLV wanted someone but had no roster space, so they offered him CONTINGENT upon him going on a mission.
4. USC now apparently putting pressure (intentional or otherwise) for Mama not to serve a mission
Sure, there are logistical issues that make us lose a couple here and there (DaMarcus Harrison, Jake Murphy) when people back out at the last minute or come home early, but by and large you would never see any of that crap at BYU.
