Call me a pessimist if you like...
But here's why I think we'll be fortunate to get 2 wins in those 4 games...
(As a disclaimer, this is my current outlook. It could change if BYU really shows they've improved a lot since last season)

1. BYU has not done well in their first few games of the season in recent memory. The last time BYU won more than 2 of their first 4 was in 2009.
2. BYU's all-time record against P5 opponents is 41.5%. Historically speaking, we have less than a coin toss chance when we go head to head against these teams.
3. The 3 games against P5 teams are all on the road. Talk about brutal.
4. UCLA isn't as bad as you think, they finished 10-3 last year.
5. Nebraska isn't as bad as you think, they finished 9-4 last year. (including a bowl victory against Georgia)
6. Michigan isn't as bad as their record last year indicated. They finished 7-6, but their last 3 losses in the regular season were by a combined 8 points.
7. Our one home game is Boise State. They may not be P5, but it's not like we're playing Savannah State here.

I understand your point though. Sure it's far away and we could end up being a top 25 team to start next season. Regardless of how this season turns out, road games against P5 schools are extremely tough. Winning any of those three would make me happy, especially Nebraska or Michigan. Last time we won a game against a Big 10 opponent, we won a national championship.
