i never talk about Haws because i am more drawn to discuss the underrated (Abouo, Hartsock until his senior year, KC, others) or the overrated (only one: Carlino).
Haws, remarkably, has gotten almost precisely the recognition he deserves, particularly since returning from his mission. While he is not an all-American, he is one of the best 2 or 3 players in the WCC, and one of the top 50 players in the nation.
From watching him this summer, it looks like he is working on two critical parts of his game that could improve his chances to earn a second round draft spot: improved shooting range and more consistent defense.
Haws almost singlehandedly kept the program in the 20+ win area in the year after his mission. Cheering for him to break the scoring record and enhance his standing as a historic BYU great.
