But from the video it's apparent that he still shoots that push shot. Drives me nuts. I want to go down there and teach him how to shoot a basketball. He must have learned that ugly shot and just can't give it up.

You can tell he's too deliberate and still trying to guide his free throws in. It just doesn't work. That push shot is too flat to be very a accurate. He should be working with a shooter to redo his shooting form. Until he can give up that ugly form he's not likely to be a great shooter.
