Wife's idea for the #BYU50 if they do it again.
We are in NC and we live in Greensboro, so we tried to get the box when it was here. We split up into two likely locations. One was the ACC headquarters and my wife went out to Guilford Courthouse. There were about 10 other BYU fans that showed up and sat around in front of the ACC offices with me. (The box was not dropped there, but I think it should have been. Would have been nice to have a big group of BYU fans all congregated in front of their HQ after the comments they made about BYU this summer.) The picture showed up and it was at guilford courthouse. Problem is that is a BIG park and my wife does not know it well. She and my son took of running along the path when she could have driven right to it. She never made it to the box at all (they ran almost the whole park) while I drove over straight to it and talked with the fans there and my other kids got to see the box. Good times even though we did not get it.

Even though it was fun, I wonder how many fans were scattered at various locations and never made it to the box. We had folks that had come over from Chapel Hill, up from Charlotte and down from Virginia plus the fans that are local. Many were disappointed because unless you guessed the right area to be in, you had no chance at the box at all.

Later, when my wife was talking to me again, she suggested a scavenger hunt. I think it is a great idea. This way, you can announce what city will be involved from the get go. People can plan and travel if they want to. I would have taken half a day off of work to get to any city in the state. Many folks were shut out the moment it was announced in Greensboro. No way to travel three or four hours in time to participate by that point. Then, you gather all those fans together in a mini pep rally. Nothing big. Just having people together will make it festive. Then hand out a 3-4 stop scavenger hunt at the same time and let everyone go for it.

This way, everyone who wants to can participate. Everyone gets to see all the other fans and get excited and everyone has a chance. Same idea, just done in a more equitable and exciting way. I told her I would post it on CB if she would stop being mad at me.

Between the box and the Virginia game last year, I'll be lucky to get her out to any more BYU stuff
