The offense should be light years ahead of where it was last season opener
Think of where we were offensively last season opener versus where we are opening this season:

GFGH is now established. This is HUGE. The team was in GFGH infancy, totally lost on offense against UVA.

Taysom returning now as an established starter that knows the system. HUGE.

Passing targets much deeper, more talented. Remember, Hoffman didn't play against UVA. Mathews and Apo are a year wiser and healthy. Jordan Leslie, big-time addition. Trey Dye. Healthy Devin Mahina. Keanu Nelson. Henderson/Pearson/Houk.

Swag Daddy is a big loss, but we have more experienced versions of Hine/Lasike/Brown... this is still a very good backfield. Should be plenty against a team of UConn's level.

O-line should be much improved. Year 2 of Tujague. Deeper group of of hogs... this time more understanding of the GFGH demands and style of play.

Seriously... the offensive unit we're taking out against UConn will be light years ahead of last year's offense that went into Virginia.

The defense may be a little behind the defense of last year, but should still be good and UConn is playing their first game in their new offensive system. Advantage BYU defense.
