Personally, I think Aybar should have been called out. I think Aybar should have been running in the lane, in foul territory. (Not that I'm implying he should be called out for running out of the baseline) Had Moss had to field it there, in Aybar's path in foul territory, it would have been a foul ball, no play. And Moss was clearly coming to field the ball. I mean maybe had Aybar stayed outside and ran into Moss, you might have something, since Moss ultimately didn't field the ball. But since he ran inside, and into Otero, who had the ball to tag him, I'd call him out.

Luckily it didn't eventually lead to the outcome of the game, so I see no reason for the A's to win their protest of it. But it should make things even more interesting between these two teams down the stretch... Hunt for October!
