The first I used every day on the farm, but it was lost in a move after 8 years of heavy use.

The second was a significant upgrade from the first - better construction, more tools, etc. This became child #2's stocking stuffer last year when my wife discovered an inequitable number of gifts under the tree. He's 11 years old and loves the leatherman more than anything on this earth. Uses it all the time.

Third Wave is even better than the second - most used tools available without unfolding the pliers. I take it camping, use it at work, and take it on the boat every time we go out. Much better than lugging around a toolbox and so far we haven't needed anything more than a leatherman for on-the-water repairs.
