...mission for two years. If it's such a big advantage, why not have all of your players take two years off of your program? (The LDS Chuch doesn't have a monopoly on eligibility interruptions for service; any program could encourage its players to take two years off.)
I like Bronco's response, and I hope someone else would have the intelligence to point out on a national broadcast when this comes up that ANY university could do the same thing IF their students were willing to sacrifice two years of their lives to serve a greater cause. Coaches copy formations and other game strategies; any program could replicate what BYU does if it wanted to adopt this practice.
