Play a lot of PAC teams to send a message to the Big 12 that they can't just rely on BYU being there when they do need to expand. I think this is a brilliant strategy, to get two conferences thinking about BYU as an expansion member. Remember that with the new PAC expansion policy, only 3/4s of the teams need to approve a new member. So we don't need Cal and Stanford. Don't even need the Utes. Personally, I would rather have BYU end up in the PAC, but I would be okay with the Big 12. Interesting comments by Bowlsby today.
