Setting aside the bad news for the poor kid involved, I feel like Ash being out is a disadvantage for BYU. Remember when the Ratliff came in and smoked BYU? What about that dude from Oregon State. Grrr. Anyway, BYU gave Ash a concussion previously and might have caused him to be tentative. Now some dude, Swoopes, gets to come in and, with lowered expectations and higher athleticism, have his day in the sun. I can see him having a breakout game and them writing headlines about how he Swooped in (because it is a pun on his name, geeesh guys). I hope I'm just getting hung up on sports narratives. I dunno. My bet is that Swoopes ends up not being any good, but that he will have a great game vs. BYU.
