If he really wanted to stay at WR, they would have kept him there
He is sitting at 1st string right now as a CB. He would probably been the 6th or 7th receiver to play this year. I think he recognizes that and the coaches were pretty frank with him on his opportunities as a WR. They probably also helped him to understand that he has NFL potential as a CB with his size and speed. Ultimately it was his decision.

e.g. they asked Alisa if he would switch to RB when we were having depth issues and Alisa told them no. He would rather stay at LB. They allowed him to stay.
