BYU offered and verbally committed Davion Orphey, who then flipped to Utah before signing day. BYU was forced to go out and find a replacement. That replacement was Trent Trammel, a guy whose only other offer was New Mexico if I remember correctly. Orphey was the priority because the staff thought he was a better player. Orphey is currently seeing time on the field for Utah, but he has looked lost so far, even against Idaho State. Trammel probably isn't as good as Orphey. So it really makes sense to me that Trammel has slid down the depth chart, and it's really a good sign imo. Says a lot about the talent level of guys like Davis, Preator, Daniel, Johnson. A few years ago we would have been thrilled to see a guy like Trammel on the field, but the talent is much better today.
