No just common, more like constant
I've worked in the corporate world in Boston, New York, LA and Washington DC. I hear the F bomb every single day. A lot. I don't even notice it any more. People in New York and LA use it the most. At the top levels of management I've found that people curse even more than lower level employees. And the smaller the group setting, the more likely it is that a top executive will drop an F bomb or curse. In a large group setting, top executives rarely curse. But once you get into a small conference room, get ready to hear his/her "real" language and personality.

Also, the idea that the more educated someone is the less they will swear is completely and 100% false. I've worked with graduates of every Ivy league school, many of the other top universities in the US (Stanford, Duke, etc.), Cambridge. Oxford, and some other top European universities. The more education one has, the more creative he/she is about cursing. Almost all highly educated people that I've known use the F bomb a lot. And not just that, but every inappropriate or curse word you can think of and in more creative ways that I had ever imagined before. That's the reality I've experienced outside of the Utah bubble over the 20+ years of my career.
