I'm pretty sure the play broke down more often than not when Riley/Hoffman were teaming up. It's seem like Riley would just loft the ball in his direction and Cody using his size would position himself over the defender to get it.

In a way, this is why Hoffman probably didn't have a huge chance in the NFL. He was perfect for our team at the time. We had a QB that didn't have a ton of arm strength and could rarely hit a receiver in stride. Instead Cody had to regularly stop, jump, and out muscle the defender for the guy. Using his height and strength he was able to win those wars.

You can't get away with that so easily in the NFL. The defenders are just too good and athletic to let a receiver regularly win a jump ball situation.
