Larry Linville came and spoke at the university I was attending.
He came out on stage and had gray hair and had put on some weight and his first words were something like "I know what you're thinking, but none of you look like you did 20 years ago either".

He mentioned that he'd just made a movie and told us how horrible it was. Said not to waste our money, he only did it because he needed the money.

He spoke a lot about the history of the book, movie and TV series - none of which were expected to be successful. This part was actually very interesting, but I won't attempt to recount it here. He showed a film of one of his favorite episodes and then did a Q&A.

He was asked why he left the show and he said that he felt there was nowhere new to go with the character Frank Burns. He was asked about many of the other actors and he talked about what they were doing or what contact they had.

Someone asked, "Where is Loretta Swit now?" His answer: "Probably underneath somebody". That was all that was spoken of Maj. Margaret Houlihan.
