It is not Bronco... Matt Berry is the only person to wear a retired jersey.
BYU recognized Steve Young in 2004 and Matt Berry last wore #8 in 2005. Corby Hodgekiss last wore #14 in 2007-- The year BYU recognized TY and Gifford.
The BYU studentbody formally retired Eldon’s football jersey (number 40) in 1962. -- Last worn in 1960. But recognized along with Marion Probert (number 81)-- last worn in 1967 in a joint ceremony in 2004.
