Offense is very much a work in progress, limited in part due to conservative...
...play calling.

Our OC is not a fan favorite. On the few occassions we have actually attempted longer pass plays, the results have been very good - then we go back to a conservative run-run-pass pattern. Brutal. Many want the OC to be fired regardless whether we retain Coach London.

Nevertheless, our offense and OL in particular have played much better than expected - they were brutal last season, so any improvement looks like progress. I suspect you'll see us open things up more in the passing game - but if our D continues to put us in plus field position, we may stick to the conservative stuff. Clearly your defense can be scored on - what is not demonstrated is whether our offense can do it routinely for a whole game. We have had some real nice drives and some big plays, and so far that has been enough (except against UCLA, who only scored once on our defense - we gave away 21 points on turnovers to their freaking defense).

We'll see if the good vibes on defense continue.
