Just was caught off guard at how he was inserting himself in those situations vs letting it play out and then flagging if necessary.

I see stepping in with flared tempers to prevent fisticuffs, etc but I'd just never noticed one guy take it upon himself like that ever before. He was the only one I've ever noticed do that and there were other refs even in the area very quickly and none of them ever did that....

And this is the first game I've ever noticed that as well...

But the more cautionary tale from my post is that the more we win the bigger the microscope will be on us in many ways and that likely includes the officiating....the team needs to tighten the ship on some of that to protect their interests....
