So, As I think about the last two wins ... I see two totally different approaches by the opponent, and BYU figuring out a way to win against both
Houston wanted to have a offensive shoot out, run up the score, get in a ton of plays, etc. Speed up the game as much as possible. That is more or less what BYU wants to do as well. And we won against someone trying to do what we want to do as well.
Virginia took almost the exact opposite approach... Virginia wanted low scoring, grind it out, keep BYU off the field and limit the number the plays. Slow down the game as much as possible. That is exactly the opposite of what BYU wants to do. But BYU managed to win against that approach as well.
Neither was particular pretty .... Virginia was quite successful in forcing the style on the game ... but they were both wins.
From here on out, I think every other opponent will be somewhere betweeen these two in approach. These two games represent the extremes in approach ... and BYU got wins against each end of the spectrum.
That is a good thing.....
