Anyone aware of the national media's discussion of BYU as a potential playoff
team, who heard comments on ESPN Game Day yesterday, who understands that performance and style points matter to the decision makers who deem BYU to be irrelevant in comparison to the big boys, and who then watched the game vs. U of Va and was frustrated at the defense's performance - not to mention the completely mindless penalties - would feel some sense of dissatisfaction about yesterday.

In my opinion, BYU needs to demonstrate not only that it can win with a schedule deemed by the voters as rather subpar, but must win convincingly and dominate. Otherwise, these wins will not ultimately get BYU where it believes an undefeated season should lead it. To give up so many yards - even against the UVA second string QB - allowing so many third/fourth down conversions (especially third and long in clear passing situations) is frustrating.

As for myself, I am very glad for the BYU win. However, I am frustrated with the penalties, frustrated with the defense's inability to get pressure on the QB yesterday, allowing so many drives to be extended (or in the case of the offense, killed) with penalties. Yes, BYU was able to overcome itself yesterday and got the win. It just exposed so many weaknesses for BYU that many know from experience will ultimately lead to a very embarrassing result as expectations continue to rise.
