A NY6 bowl would be a let down for the teams you listed. BYU would just have to be in the Top 10 to get a consolation prize bowl. This is like being a top seed in the NIT but missing the Big Dance.
BYU is pretty much eliminated from the playoffs without losing a game. If NE, AL, OK or FSU go undefeated, they are in the playoffs no questions asked. They probably only need to win their conference so a strategic loss won't hurt them. BYU needs 12-0 and a lot of miracles to get into the playoffs.
The BCS is dead, so bowl games are just exhibition matches now.
