It was whether it should have been a penalty. The still frame showed that at least a finger and thumb wrapped around the opening of the helmet. And while the still-frame only caught the finger and thumb (which is why we're debating the fingers) the BYUTV replay looks a lot worse. The replay on BYUTV shows his helmet jerk to the side as the fingers snag the opening of the helmet. In fact, not only did hit helmet jerk, but his entire body was bent over and forced out of bounds after his hand left the shoulder pad. All of this by apparently grazing the helmet. Uh huh.
