Assuming his NFL career is over (which is a stretch), he could still be around the game he loves as a coach, analyst, etc.

Although I love watching our BYU boys in the NFL, I agree that getting the guaranteed money and having a relatively short career (with less physical abuse, fewer concussions, no knee injuries) might be better for his quality of life in the long run.

I'm sad for Pitta because I know he wants to be out there competing, but I'm happy for him in that he was able to perform well enough early in his career to take care of his future (and the future of his children and grandchildren).
