patrolling our neighborhood looking for drug deals going down. Tonight something odd hapened to my wife and I.

We had just finished walking our dog and we turned onto the street that our house is on. As we got closer, we saw this woman slowing walking through the side yard of our house and then leaning over our porch railing. She then started walking through the front yard. We walked up to our house and I asked her if there was something I would help her with. She said "Naw, I'm just lookin' fo' cigarette butts." Sure enough she had a sandwich size plastic bag with something in it. We went inside, but I watched her walk off our yard and look into my car that was parked out front. Later I saw her slowly meander down to where my drunk neighbor was sitting outside on the curb drinking whiskey. She looked to be about 45, was wearing heavy makeup, rhinestone jeans, and an Ed Hardy tshirt.

I've lived in poor neighborhoods growing up and I've seen plenty of druggies, but I've never heard of someone looking for cigarette butts at sundown on a Tuesday evening.

What the heck was this woman doing?
