That's the challenge Utah faces in the PAC12. Nothing sets Utah apart.
The Arizona schools can pitch great weather and beautiful campuses.

The southern Cal schools can pitch...well...I don't know how USC and UCLA aren't winning national championships every year given their locations.

The Northern Cal Schools have amazing weather, and excellent academic reputations as well.

The PNW schools (Oregon, Oregon State and Washington) are located is some of the most beautiful places in the world, and the campuses are amazing.

Colorado, Washington State, and Utah are the only cold weather schools in the PAC. They are at a tremendous recruiting disadvantage. Given the choice as a young recruit from a warm weather state, I'd rather go to San Diego State, UNLV, Houston, or even San Jose State instead of Utah.
