over its rivals. BYU has a niche that gives it a bunch of recruits that other competitors can't get. In the world of business, this is referred to as a competitive advantage or a moat. Utah is currently looking around and wondering "what happened to that PAC12 recruiting bump?" Well, there may have been a very brief and slight bump, but it is long gone. Utah has a disadvantage in recruiting because it offers nothing really special, nothing that many other schools can't also offer. Not much tradition except for 2 (flash in the pan) great seasons in the last 40. It is pretty clear that as the Independence model continues to be successful, BYU's recruiting has also moved up a notch. If things continue to play out like they appear to be, BYU is going to be in a very, very sweet spot. Utah, not so much.....
