I don't think that class is defined by the amount of income -- it is defined by
the source of income.
If you can make a comfortable living off unearned income that comes in no matter what you do, you are rich.
If you have to work to make a comfortable living, you are middle class.
If you can't make a comfortable living even when you are working, or if you require government subsidies to live, you are poor.
