It's the coaches who implement strategy, prepare the players for the game
recruit the players, and make the key decisions that affect the outcome of the games. Players cycle through the program, but coaches remain the same over the years. You can't tell me that the decision between playing conservatively bend but don't break versus blitz on every down doesn't impact the game's outcome. Don't tell me that coming in unprepared like the team has numerous times isn't on the coaches. Bronco thought we could out execute other teams. He was wrong. Every deficiency that a team has comes back to the coaches and which players they chose to recruit. Coaching has a material impact on the outcome of most games. Players like Taysom or Staley can hide the deficiencies of coaches, but eventually those players graduate and you see why coaching really matters.
