BSU's Petersen rarely talked about discipline and execution but his teams had it in spades. If a star player did something bone headed, he sat them out immediately (in one game he sat out their top receiver for an entire half for a celebration penalty after he scored a TD). They could run trick plays like no ones business because they executed so well. The team looked disciplined and organized, even in losses.
Put a team on the field that loses because they were beat, and not because they (and/or the coaches) beat themselves and that is what I would like. If that guy is Bronco, great. Make the changes and do it. But no more talk.
